Paying with a Credit Card
Occasionally we receive orders for appraisal reports where payment is required in advance. Whether the report is for a home owner, or just from a client with whom we’ve not done business before, these instances have been known to cause delays in the past.
No longer. Our company now accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit card payments for any transaction. You can use this option to pay for single appraisals, multiple orders or any of our other services.
How does it work?
Call the office directly for credit card processing. 831-883-0406
Payment Information section of the order form. When you submit the order, your
payment data is sent – over a secure connection – along with the other information. The order process does confirm you’ve entered a valid credit card number, and prompts you to correct it if you made a mistake. However, your card won’t be charged until after we’ve accepted the order.
Because your credit card information is sent along with your order, I don’t have to worry about making a mistake by re-typing anything. Your contact information is brought over from your account on my web site. Once we settle on a fee, I simply enter the amount in your account and then charge your card. Automatically, you’ll receive a transaction receipt via e-mail for your records.
Is it safe?
Of course! My web site is protected by industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This means that every sensitive communication between your computer and our web server is scrambled. So if any payment data gets illegally intercepted, it’s completely unreadable! You can be sure that paying electronically is just as safe as doing business anywhere else on the Internet!

If you have any questions about paying for services with a credit card, or any other payment option, please give us a call or send us an e-mail message.
Melville Appraisal has created this payment system to better serve you. The system does not store your credit card information after the payment has been made, nor do we have access to your personal information. Nova Network is the merchant service provider that processes the credit card transactions.
The payment will show up as “Melville Appraisal”. Note that by Federal law requires the appraiser to follow the Uniform Standards of Professional Practice, which states the appraisal fee cannot be a contingency of the appraised value, the making of a loan, or any other outcome other than the provision of the appraisal service. Once we have inspected your property and or completed field work in relation to your appraisal, the appraisal fee is considered to be payable. If you get turned down for your loan, or otherwise if the outcome of the lending actions relative to the appraisal are not as you expect and the appraisal service has already been rendered, the fee is not refundable.
Orders cancelled 48 hours prior to commencement of the appraisal service may require a 3.5% service fee to cover payment processing costs.
